I stumbled across a column by Harvey MacKay that I cut out of the Star Tribune several years ago titled “Learn from Buffett’s 4 Rules for Success”. I am sharing the summary below, including a few of my favorite additional points.
Number One – Choose your friends wisely.
Number Two – Continuous learning.
Number Three – Improve your communication skills.
Number Four – The ability to say no.
In the continuous learning section, he makes two great points.
- “Education is an investment and never an expense. Consider education a capital improvement.”
- “In fact, self-improvement is the one area in which you should really increase your spending, not decrease it.”
To read the article in its entirety (well worth the time) I’ve included the link.
