Celebrate Women

We all know Men and Women each bring something different to the table. Unfortunately, too often in business, women feel the need to “be more like a man” to get to the table. We have all seen this, possibly done this, it is stereotyped in movies, and I have heard this from many women throughout my career. However it seems that by doing this we betray the unique value we have to share.

Women’s History Month – March 2024

Women’s History Month began in 1978. The US theme for this year’s Women’s History Month is “Women who advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion.”

I encourage women, no matter what your job, at home or outside of the home, to really embrace this.

We should have equality – step forward, ask for it.

The diversity we bring should be honored – don’t hide it or shy away from the value you bring.

We should be included – our thoughts, our gifts, our differences.

If we are asking the men in the world to look at us as equal, respect our diversity, and include us, we first must honor ourselves in the same manner.

Lean into this, honor who you are.

International Women’s Day – Friday March 8, 2024

International Women’s Day began in 1910. This year the International Women’s Day theme is “Inspire Inclusion” and “Investing in women: Accelerate progress.”

Women in Construction Week (WIC Week) March 3 -9, 2024

WIC Week started in 1998 by the National Association of Women in Construction to celebrate and promote women in the construction industry.

Having spent my career in the Design and Construction Industry, I can say it is an amazing field for women and the industry is really benefitting from the growing number of women and the perspective they bring.

The associated colors are Purple, representing Justice and Dignity, Green which signifies Hope, and White symbolizing Purity.
