For those of you who know me, you know this is one of my favorite coaching topics.
Mostly because it is often overlooked by those who believe they are “not leaders.”
I would argue that we are all leaders.
It is important to develop our leadership from within:
• Start with developing self-awareness.
• Take a closer look into how we function internally.
• How do we respond to situations that come our way?
• Notice if and how we manage our emotions?
• Are we aware of how we show up for others?
• Are we able to see where we are stuck, what is in our way that prevents growth?
• Are we able to recognize we don’t have all the answers and may need support from external resources?
• Can we ask for help? Can we accept help?
• Do we recognize familiar patterns in our behavior that no longer serve us, hold us back, or hurt us?
• Do we hear, and listen, when others provide feedback on how we can improve?
• Have we shut down because it is easier than having the courage to do the work?
• Are we willing to continually improve, grow, and learn?
Even if you have no desire to lead others, lead yourself! Take charge of developing the leader within.
Be intentional about the course of your life, how you live it, and how you interact with those in your life.
